Thanks to a grant from Ocean Hour Farm, we are able to distribute our locally grown and harvested sugar kelp to farmers in 2024! Ocean Hour Farm is located in Newport, Rhode Island, and supports farming practices that provide long term benefits to ocean health.
Rhody Wild Sea Gardens does not use synthetic chemicals, preservatives, or additives to grow or process our sugar kelp. We grow & harvest from the beautiful waters of Narragansett Bay and promptly transfer the kelp to our greenhouse for drying. We do not blanch or wash our product, allowing our kelp to retain the saltiness of the sea! While our product is not USDA-certified organic, rest assured that Rhody Wild sugar kelp is an organic sea-grown product of the highest quality.
